Our Volunteers

Medicine Lodge Hospital Auxiliary

This volunteer organization is dedicated to providing service to the local hospital and its patients. The group is patterned after the state organization and meets monthly to review members’ activity (hours for each type) and plan its future service activities.

Auxiliary members follow Robert Lewis Stevenson’s advice:
“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant!”

Member activities include delivering mail and cheer sheets to hospitalized patients, supporting the bloodmobile at the Methodist Church, participation in the health fair, making teddy bears to give each young patient, sewing and mending for patients, and helping patients with transportation to doctor appointments.

The Auxiliary Prayer

Almighty God and Heavenly Father of mankind, Bless, we pray Thee, our endeavors in those hospitals in which we strive to bring comfort and hope to all who are in distress of mind or body.
Guide us so that we may use this privilege given to us to help the aged, the ill and the very young, with generosity, with discretion, and with gentleness.
Give us the strength to labor diligently, the courage to think and to speak with clarity and conviction, but without prejudice or pride.
Grant us, we beseech Thee, both wisdom and humility in directing our united efforts to do for others as Thou would have us do.
Amen
