We provide skilled nursing care and services as part of the hospital stay. These services help patients during recuperation from severe illness or surgery. Patients who are unable to care for themselves at home take advantage of intermediate care.
Skilled Swing Bed Care
The Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital understands the importance of being able to stay in your home town and get the rehabilitation you need, especially when you or a loved one is recovering from illness, surgery or an accident. At some point in your recovery, acute hospital care is no longer necessary; however, you may not be physically ready to go home. The MLMH Swing Bed program may be the next step that will help meet your healthcare needs and get you back to your own home.
The Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital Swing Bed program is designed to serve as a transition between acute hospital care and discharge to home, home health or long-term care setting. Swing bed services help patients:
- Recover from major surgery, joint replacement, vascular or abdominal procedures
- Recovery from repeated hospitalization due to chronic illnesses
- Recovery after a major accident or stroke
- Con’t IV therapy following infection
- End of life care
